Why topdress?
Topdressing has many very important benefits: It dilutes thatch, improves surface drainage and provides a firm, smooth putting surface.
The greens were lightly top dressed this past Thursday, and we will continue this practice every week during the growing season. I strongly believe in light, frequent topdressing. It provides the most consistent putting surfaces, requires less labor, weather is rarely a factor and it is much easier on the equipment.
