Where does the organic matter go?

As stated during our core aeration process, organic matter is removed from the greens and replaced with straight sand. We stock pile all of the cores behind our maintenance facility. Some of these cores will be composted for use in flower beds at a later time, and some of them can be blended with straight sand to develop a tee mix for enlarging or building new tees. A large portion of last years cores went in to developing the tee mix for rebuilding #13 tees.  Keeping stuff like this around can only help the course become more sustainable. Here is a picture of the pile of cores.
